The Baldwin County Auburn Club Scholarship Program
was established by the Board of Directors
of the Baldwin County Auburn Club in 2002. The purpose of the Scholarship Program is to award one $1000 scholarship per year to a currently enrolled senior in each of Baldwin County’s six public high schools. The recipients should be of good academic standing, demonstrate financial need and excellence in citizenship.
The scholarships will be awarded at the discretion
of the Board of Directors of the Baldwin
County Auburn Club with selection and distribution the responsibility of the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee shall be nominated and appointed by the acting Board of Directors each year. The Scholarship Committee will have the task of selecting the students to whom the scholarship will be awarded based on criteria met, demonstrated financial need and excellence in academics and citizenship. The candidates selected to receive the scholarship from each school must have final approval from the board of directors. Personal interviews may be necessary in the final selection process. The Scholarship Committee should be responsible for conducting these interviews.
In the event there is not an eligible student at a high school
no scholarship will be awarded. If funding is not available for six individual
scholarships, all applications will be combined and the quantity of scholarships
will be awarded based on funding. The scholarship program can be terminated
due to lack of funding at any given time.
Applications* and details of scholarship
program will be delivered to the six Baldwin County High Schools
each year. Applications must be completed
in entirety, postmarked and returned with letters of recommendation,
transcripts and essay, to the proper address by March 31st of
this year. The scholarship
will be awarded in May of the same year. When possible the presentation
of scholarships will be made by a member of the Baldwin County
Auburn Club to
the student on his or her high school’s honors and awards day.
